Before joining Allen Edwin Homes, Natalie worked as a school social worker in an Emotionally Impaired classroom in Kent City, demonstrating her dedication to helping others.

Natalie’s journey to Allen Edwin began during a summer internship with the Marketing department, where she discovered her passion for the creative and analytical aspects of the field. When the opportunity to join the team full-time arose, she eagerly embraced it. Today, Natalie thrives in the collaborative and innovative environment at Allen Edwin, where the company culture aligns perfectly with her values.

Outside of work, Natalie treasures time with her family and friends. Being a new mom, she finds immense joy in watching her son grow and learn. Outside of work, Amber is passionate about the outdoors and cultivating her homestead. She spends much of her time gardening, caring for animals, and baking and canning in the kitchen.

As an adventurer at heart, she and her family enjoy camping, hiking, and snowmobiling together—activities her two children love just as much as she does. Amber feels incredibly fortunate to share her love for the outdoors and homesteading with her family, making every experience even more meaningful.

Latrice Johnson is a dedicated and experienced Closing Administrator at Allen Edwin Homes, where she has been an integral part of the team for five years. With a deep passion for the homebuilding industry, she takes immense pride in helping buyers navigate the final steps of their journey to homeownership. Latrice finds great fulfillment in working directly with homebuyers, ensuring a seamless and positive closing experience as they step into their dream homes. Emily Morris joined Allen Edwin Homes in early 2022, bringing a unique blend of experience and a passion for helping others achieve their dream of homeownership. After studying Dental Hygiene at KVCC in 2019-2020, Emily decided to explore a different career path during the challenges of 2020.

This led her to the mortgage industry, where she worked as a loan processor at a small mortgage company. Coming from a family of top Mortgage Brokers in Michigan, including her father, who owned his own mortgage company and later worked at one of Allen Edwin's preferred lenders, Independent Bank, Emily found inspiration in their legacy.

After nearly five years in the dental field, she pivoted to follow in her parents' footsteps, transitioning to a career closely aligned with her passion for helping others. When the mortgage company she worked for downsized in late 2021, Emily sought a role that would allow her to continue assisting buyers. With connections already at Allen Edwin, she applied for an open position and joined the team.

Since then, she has embraced her role with enthusiasm, describing it as a joy and an incredible opportunity to help families purchase their dream homes. Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with friends and family, baking, photography, and soaking up the summer at the lake or pool. Her dedication to both her career and personal passions makes her a valuable and vibrant member of the Allen Edwin Homes team.

Kelly Hemmes graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Education, double majoring in Elementary Education and Spanish. She also earned a Master’s Degree in Education and Technology from Western Michigan University. Before joining Allen Edwin Homes, Kelly spent 12 years as a teacher.

She began by teaching Kindergarten in Phoenix, AZ, for nearly two years before moving to a bilingual school in Kalamazoo, where she taught 2nd Grade for seven years, Kindergarten for one year, and 5th Grade for two years.

Kelly joined Allen Edwin Homes in August of 2016 after deciding to step away from teaching due to health reasons. At that time, a position opened in Allen Edwin’s Closing Department, which turned out to be a perfect fit.

Since then, she has been happy assisting families throughout their homebuilding journeys. In her free time, Kelly enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her dogs Tanner and Prince. Her hobbies include yoga, cooking, hiking, gardening, and anything that gets her outside.

Alexandra Kruh joined Allen Edwin Homes in 2017, bringing a diverse background and a passion for meaningful work to the team. She graduated from Hope College with a Bachelor of Arts degree, double majoring in History and Classical Studies. After spending four years in the insurance industry, Alexandra realized she was ready for a change and sought out a company with a strong, positive culture. She found exactly that at Allen Edwin Homes, where the supportive environment and team-driven mindset have exceeded her expectations.

Outside of the office, Alexandra loves spending time in her garden, getting lost in a good book, and baking sweet treats. Megan Thomas graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science in Comprehensive Science and Arts for Teaching, double-majoring in Elementary Education (K-5) and Cognitive/Emotional Impairments (K-12).

Before joining Allen Edwin Homes in August 2019, Megan spent five years as an educator, teaching second grade in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and kindergarten in Jenison, Michigan, where she also coached JV soccer. As another school year approached, Megan sought a new challenge and found the perfect fit at Allen Edwin Homes.

The role allowed her to combine her passion for working with people, home decorating, and design. Helping families bring their dream homes to life has been an incredibly fulfilling experience that aligns with her talents and interests.

Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her dog, Ammo. Her hobbies include yoga, golf, soccer, boating, traveling, and any activity that gets her outdoors. Kris Andres joined Allen Edwin Homes on October 7, 2019, embarking on an exciting new chapter in her career. Married for 40 years, Kris is blessed with three children, seven grandchildren, a dog, and more than 13 international exchange student sons and daughters who have enriched her life in countless ways.

Mara Osgood holds an Associate Degree in Business Management from Grand Rapids Community College. Growing up in a family immersed in the building and design industry, Mara gained firsthand experience and inspiration from her mother, an interior designer. She loves exploring homes to discover the latest designs and trends. Mara attended Byron Center High School, where she played soccer. While studying at GRCC, she worked part-time in the Design Studio, where her love for working with people quickly turned into a full-time career.

Frank Bolton joined Allen Edwin Homes on February 13, 2017, bringing over a decade of hands-on experience in home improvement. Before joining the team, Frank was self-employed for 10 years, specializing in door and window installations for Home Depot. Frank holds associate degrees in Computer Science and Criminal Justice, showcasing his diverse skills and problem-solving abilities. Chris Stott's journey to becoming an integral part of AEH is a story of diverse experiences, self-made expertise, and a passion for hands-on work. His professional journey began in 1998, when he started as a finish carpenter. This role laid the foundation for his later ventures, where he honed his skill for creating finely detailed work. Over the next decade, from 2008 to 2012, Chris expanded his horizons by becoming a self-employed home remodeler. His ability to transform homes and solve complex challenges in the construction and renovation space earned him a reputation for excellence.

In 2012, Chris further broadened his professional scope by stepping into a management position as an Apartment Maintenance Supervisor. This shift allowed him to develop a deeper understanding of operations, team coordination, and efficiency in maintaining apartment complexes. His unique combination of technical expertise and leadership ability naturally led him to AEH, where his diverse skills are put to good use. Rodney Thom has been a dedicated member of the Allen Edwin Homes team, with a career that began in October 1998. After a brief hiatus, Rodney returned to AEH in January 2010, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to excellence.

With a diploma supplemented by trade courses and a Residential Builders License, Rodney’s career path has been shaped by his hands-on expertise and problem-solving skills. Prior to joining Allen Edwin Homes, he spent 10 years as an apartment maintenance manager in Grand Rapids, where he honed his ability to manage projects, solve challenges, and deliver quality results.

Outside of work, Rodney is a passionate sports fan who enjoys watching all types of sporting events. He also treasures time spent with his family, whether camping, playing Euchre with loved ones, or gathering around a bonfire. When not enjoying the great outdoors or family activities, Rodney channels his creativity and skills into making thoughtful upgrades to his home.

A fun fact about Rodney: when he first started with Allen Edwin Homes, his office was a shared closet with the Production staff at the Sanderson DeHaan Irrigation office—fondly remembered as a former chicken coop. Heather Bryson officially joined the Allen Edwin Homes team on July 27, 2015, after starting as a temp on March 31, 2015. She brings a vibrant blend of creativity and dedication to her role, fueled by her passion for crafting and her love for her family.

Heather enjoys spending time with her mother, participating in craft shows, and is a devoted Kalamazoo Wings hockey fan, attending as many games as possible. Mitchel Davis joined Allen Edwin Homes on September 4, 2013, bringing with him over 20 years of diverse experience in home construction. His background spans new builds, renovations, production home construction, and specialized areas such as basement waterproofing and tilt-up construction.

After earning his diploma, Daniel spent 12 years as a screen printer, honing his attention to detail and precision. His career then took him to Alabama, where he worked for Publix grocery store for a year before returning home. Back in Indiana, Daniel transitioned into the RV industry, working at Thor for a year and then at Recreation by Design for nearly four years.

During this time, he also pursued house flipping projects, leveraging his skills in woodworking, renovation, and problem-solving. His path eventually led him to Allen Edwin Homes, where his dedication and multifaceted background make him an asset to the team. In his free time, Daniel’s world revolves around his two young children, ages 3 and 5. Whether they’re camping, playing, or tackling fun adventures together, being a present and engaged dad is his greatest joy.

Beyond family time, Daniel enjoys woodworking, welding, and taking on creative projects that challenge his skills and imagination. A former athlete with a deep love for basketball, Daniel played year-round for 14 years across three different teams. His talent opened doors to full-ride scholarship opportunities across the country, but life took a different turn.

Today, Daniel is focused on building a bright future for himself and his family. A fun fact about Daniel: at one point, he and his family had 16 animals, including a horse, rabbits, dogs, cats, and numerous foster pets.

Tim Scheerhorn has been an integral part of Allen Edwin Homes since May 14, 2007, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his background in custom home building. His deep understanding of home construction and design has made him a valuable asset to the team, helping to elevate the company’s reputation for delivering high-quality, innovative homes. Tim’s commitment to excellence and his attention to detail have been pivotal in ensuring that every home meets the highest standards, making him a trusted resource for both colleagues and homeowners alike.

Outside of work, Tim channels his passion for craftsmanship into personal projects and his love for fast cars, especially Mustangs. A dedicated automotive enthusiast, he enjoys restoring and showcasing Mustangs at car shows, connecting with like-minded car lovers, and immersing himself in the vibrant automotive community. With a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Davenport University, Kevin Palmer brings a diverse background and a passion for growth to Allen Edwin Homes. Originally from Canada, he was recruited to play golf for Davenport University and moved to the United States in 2007. Over the next four years, he competed as a dedicated student-athlete while earning his degree. Following graduation, he gained valuable experience across several industries, including apparel design, screen printing, vinyl wrapping vehicles, and building and installing signage of all kinds. These roles developed a versatile skill set and a strong work ethic that eventually led him to Allen Edwin Homes in March 2018.

Outside of work, Kevin remains deeply connected to his first love, golf. Having traveled and competed in tournaments throughout his younger and teenage years, one of his proudest moments was playing in a televised tournament at Pebble Beach in California with the Champions Tour. During this unforgettable experience, he even received a high-five from Arnold Palmer for sharing the same last name. When not on the golf course, he enjoys spending quality time with his three kids, watching movies, listening to music, reading, and playing video games. While spare time is rare with three little ones, he embraces every moment and continues to stay active in his passions.

Kurt Feringa joined Allen Edwin Homes on March 22, 2021, bringing with him an impressive background in construction and home improvement. With over a decade of experience at Roberts Home Improvement, followed by roles at AMI and Environmental Door, Kurt has cultivated a wealth of knowledge and skills that make him a valuable member of the team.

Kurt channels his expertise and passion into his hobbies, which include woodworking, building, and home improvement. He's also an avid sports enthusiast who enjoys soccer, hockey, golf, and softball.

When Kurt isn’t working (which he humorously says leaves little spare time), he loves spending quality time with his family and lending a hand with projects for friends and loved ones. His life motto, "Don’t take life too seriously—you’ll never get out alive," perfectly reflects his lighthearted and grounded approach to life.

Prior to joining the team, Richard earned his HVAC certification, held an apprentice plumbing license, and obtained his builder’s license in 2020, which he continues to keep up to date. His well-rounded background in trades and construction management has equipped him with the technical knowledge and leadership skills needed to excel in his role.

Outside of work, Richard enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. Weekly game nights and Sunday dinners are a cherished tradition that allow him to stay connected with loved ones.
