Kim has a comprehensive background in the building and construction industry.  Her professional portfolio includes many facets of trades running the gambit from a lumber company, semi-custom builder and kitchen & bath design.  This broad range of experience, combined with an acute understanding and experience with custom kitchen design, makes her a valuable resource to the families that she works with.

Her personal style can be summarized as sophisticated yet accessible.  With her background she understands the value of texture, the importance of incorporating creative touches, and that color can transform a space.

Education:  BA from Western Michigan University in Textile & Apparel Studies.

Hobbies/Sports/Recreation:  Kim enjoys a busy life with her husband and twin daughters.  In her spare time she can be found perusing the latest trends in fashion and home décor, dining out or enjoying a good book.

Background Work experience: Prior to coming to Allen Edwin, I was a teacher for 5 years. I taught second grade for one year in Fort Wayne, Indiana and Kindergarten for four years in Jenison, Michigan. While teaching in Jenison, I also was a JV soccer coach.

Path to Allen Edwin: Change was in the back of my mind and as another school year was approaching, an opportunity was presented to me to join the AE team. After the interview process, I knew joining the AE team was going to be the perfect fit for me as I love working with people, home decorating, and design. The combination of this job has been fulfilling to help families piece together their dream home!

Hobbies / Sports / recreation: Spending time with friends, family, and my dog Ammo. Yoga, Golf, Soccer, boating, traveling, and anything outside!

What is your story/path to AE: An opportunity to grow and explore a new career path. Customer service has always been something I have enjoyed and working in an environment where style, and opportunity to communicate with others as they choose their forever home style is very exciting. I have been married 40 years with three children 7 grandchildren, one dog and over 13 international exchange student sons and daughters.

Hobbies/sports/recreation: In my spare time I love spending time with my family and friends, camping, kayaking, fishing, golfing, swimming, Lake Michigan beaches, and traveling.

Education: CHIC University of Cosmetology, Oakland University Certified Paraprofessional

Education:  I have an Associate degree in Business Management from GRCC

Background:  I have worked in the customer service industry for several years and grew up in a family that was entrenched in the building & design industry. Specifically, my mom is in interior design, and I have had the opportunity to learn from her and see the process and outcome of projects. Any chance I have, you will find me walking through homes discovering the newest designs and craftsmanship.

What is your story/path to AE: I went to Bryon Center High School and played soccer. As I attended GRCC I had the opportunity to work part-time in the Design Studio and instantly fell in love with working with people.  That passion led to a full-time career. 

Hobbies/sports/recreation:   

In my spare time, I love to be with friends and family, golfing, boating, yoga, hiking, biking, kickboxing, and being around animals (especially dogs!). I also have a big interest in preventive/functional medicine and am always learning more about it.
